Numinous Bloom is an interactive mechanical garden for all ages featuring triggered animatronics, sound and light. An installation you can play, it uses technology to mimic the way plants communicate with each other through symbiotic relationships with fungi.

The CUBE becomes a hub of artistic exploration and creation when it’s transformed into a gallery, showcasing a local street artist at work.
As the DJ hits the decks and the vibe starts to lift, the CUBE as a canvas is converted into a dance floor, as the energetic and exceptionally talented L2R dance crew get the whole community on their feet.

Joyful, participatory, profound, and playful. Enlighten unifies an audience of strangers in the spirit of play! As night begins to fall, light and sound explode from inside a transparent CUBE. Three illuminated angels float through the crowd drawing them into playful, interactive rituals before they enter the mysterious CUBE.

From inside the Angels conduct a series of participatory events, from the poetic to the ridiculous. The audience can observe from afar, come for a blessing, or be chosen to cross over into the heavenly realm. Enlighten brings a sense of beauty, connection, and wonder into public space.

For the first time ever The CUBE will be transformed into a cinema! Featuring local short films from Westie locals.

Seriously silly, three security guards conduct absurd games turning crowd control into an art form. High status and restrained, the Guards play with power in various forms. Coercion, authoritarianism, superiority and humour. They corral, test, judge and choose who is worthy? Lines are drawn, rules are made, the audience is sorted, tensions mount, and power is transferred to the chosen ones permitted to enter The CUBE.

This event is part of Born In A Taxi’s seven-day event ‘The Cube: Illuminating Arts Experiences’, funded through Council’s Community Support Package - New Art Stream and Creative Victoria’s Creative Venture grant.
