Prime Time

Prime Time (PT) is a new inter-generational performance work by Born in a Taxi in collaboration with key creatives and a mix of 13 professional and non-professional performers 2- 93 years of age. The work draws on multiple recorded interviews with community members from Melbourne's West across each decade, forming the backbone of the project's research, content, sound and visual design.

PT challenges our assumptions about age and power, visibility and value, exposing our often benign prejudice through the mixed mediums of dance, theatre, projection, personal verbatim text (both live and recorded) and sound composition. PT is a dialogue between generations, a celebration of community, connection and the ageing process, engaging 170 members of the community in the development of this work.

We hope to premiere in 2025

Midnight and the Flickering Wild

Midnight and the Flickering Wild

A short performance in the installation created by Born in a Taxi and visual artist Dagmara Gieysztorover over three weeks in residence in ArtSpace. The performance will be a "work in progress" revealing the artists' exploration of the moment at midnight where yesterday and tomorrow collide, a crack in time, where the unknown resides and shadows hide imaginative flights of fancy.
